This evening's playing was preceded by a talk on 'Performing with Confidence' by Edward Arran.
He spoke about the possibility of reprogramming your anxiety. Something many of us recognised. Very interesting, to understand how it works. We definitely need more time to dive into this and may organise a separate event in future.

Numbers were slightly less than normal this month, due to various ailments amongst
our members. But the good news was that we had time for everyone to join in with
some ensemble playing at the end of the evening.

This month CGC was delighted to welcome two talented young performers currently studying at Chethams, Alexandra Whittingham and Ben Pace. They treated us to a dazzling display of technical wizardry with Gary Ryan’s Generator, followed by solos and duets by Brower and Roland Dyens. With so much talent at such a young age, we anticipate a bright future for these amazing duetists

Our traditional Christmas meeting was successful as usual, with members bringing along festive
nibbles for the interval.
And a selection of carol arrangements also went down nicely.
The evening was completed with an ensemble session of Alastair's recent festive compositions.
